MUST-SEE: Bobbi Kristina Brown - Someone Like You

Bobbi Kristina Brown, Whitney Houston's baby girl and "The Voice's" daughter with 90s R&B star Bobby Brown, steps out on her own and treats fans to her rendition of this week's US Billboard Hot 100 #1, British soul singer Adele's rousing ballad Someone Like You.

MUSIC VIDEO: Max Barsikh - Lost In Love

There's a new star from Ukraine that looks set to take everything in his path. His name is Max Barsikh (his real name is the equally good Nikolay Bortnik) and his single is called "Lost In Love". A finalist of the second season of Star Academy (I'm guessing this is a talent show akin to the belated Fame Academy in the UK), this appears to be his first English-language release - hopefully the first of money. File this somewhere between early 2000s Ricky Martin and what Justin Timberlake might be doing if he was still musically relevant.

Thanks to EQ Blog for the discovery.

NEW MUSIC: One Direction - Na Na Na

"Na Na Na" is the B-side to X-Factor alums One Direction's debut single "What Makes You Beautiful", already out in Ireland (where it's shot to #1 on iTunes) and out this Sunday in the UK, where it is also expected to shoot right to the top of the charts with ease.

The track - which can be heard below - was a strong contender to be the ensemble's lead single.

NEW MUSIC: T-Pain feat. Lily Allen & Wiz Khalifa - 5 O'Clock

Nappy boy and King of Auto-tune T-Pain has premiered his new single "5 O'Clock" from his long, long, long overdue new LP "RevolveR", hopefully out sometime later this year. The laidback ditty is a perfect example of sampling done right; the entire song is built around an impeccable sample of the opening line from British singer-songwriter Lily Allen's "Who'd Have Known". Relative newcomer Wiz Khalifa also makes a cameo on the cut which - if there's any justice in the world - will be one of the big hits of fall 2011.

Eagerly looking forward to a great visual, here's the audio:

NEWS IN: Dev Is Pregnant!

Up and coming solo artist Devin Star Tailes, best known as "Like A G6" hook singer Dev, has announced that she is pregnant with her boyfriend Jimmy's child, a 'radical little baby' girl. Dev revealed her pregnancy in an exclusive interview with Whatthehellz.com.

The crucial excerpt from the What The  Hellz interview and the exclusive first-look at Dev as an expectant mother below:

Q: Your career has blossomed so quickly and hasn’t even hit it’s peek, what was your initial reaction when you found out about little baby Dev, and while your career is now just coming to fruition?
"A: When I first found out my initial reaction was happiness, I smiled. I knew how much Jimmy and I loved each other and I thought we’d do amazing at loving this baby. Being so busy and wrapped up in my career, I never thought I’d fall in love or have a family. I thought I was going to be a lonely touring soul till I was 50 lol, so this is rad. I feel so blessed and empowered, like I can kick ass more then ever! It is scary though, I also thought people were going to hate and/or be sad about this beautiful thing I’m experiencing and I wouldn’t be able to celebrate. That i wouldn’t be able to put out this album. I thought my label might drop me. I thought I was going to make indie pop and The Cataracs really sad because we worked so fucking hard together and now our entire plans are going to change. Thankfully all of the boys came around, thankfully my label supports me, and I’m grateful I can put out this album. I can celebrate both my hard work, as well as my baby girl! I’m juggling the best of both worlds.. And yeah it’s difficult, but it’s also everything I could have ever wanted. I’m a lucky girl."

Dev's debut album, "The Night The Sun Came Up", dropped in the UK on September 5th and in eleven days (September 20th) in the US. Entirely produced by long-standing collaborators The Cataracs and co-written by them and Dev, the LP is preceded by two singles: "Bass Down Low" (which became a Top 10 UK hit following the release of a remix featuring Tinie Tempah) and "In The Dark" (which has so far peaked at #28 on the US Billboard Hot 100), as well as a string of successful collaborations featuring Dev singing hook & chorus for other artists.

Dev shot a music video for third single "Take Her From You" on 28 July 2011, which will be out shortly. For the mean time, feast your eyes on the visual for second single "In The Dark":

MUSIC VIDEO: Scams - Helicopter Parents

I heard of Scams for the very first time today. Not the concept of scamming, but, the four-piece band comprising Andy Morgan (frontman), Andy Fenwick (bass/vocals), Jamie Macneal (second guitars, samples & vocals) and Daniel Harvey (drums) that is based in the city of Leeds in England and goes by the name of Scams. Anyways, the indie-pop outfit is now releasing a new single titled "Helicopter Parents" which should, in my opinion, be titled "I Don't Think So!" instead (you'll get it when you listen to the song). The song itself is pretty darn good and one of the year's best rock tracks thus far (up there with "Darling Buds of May" and "Pumped Up Kicks").

Other songs by the group ("Youngblood" and "Jules et Jim" respectively) were recently featured on TV shows 'Shit My Dad Says' and 'Better With You", both shown on Channel 5 and Fiver. They've also recently wrapped up an European tour with New Politics and will be announcing a series of UK dates over the coming months.

Check out the visual for the infectious track below:

LYRICS VIDEO: NERVO feat. Afrojack & Steve Aoki - We're All No One

The Nervo twins Miriam and Olivia (Mim and Liv), now known as NERVO, have made a name for themselves as songwriters in the past few years. Among various other A-list credits (Kesha, Pussycat Dolls, etc etc), they are the writers behind the Grammy Award-winning, international #1 "When Love Takes Over"  which propelled the respective solo careers of both David Guetta and Kelly Rowland to dizzying new heights.

The Australian duo is currently working on their untitled debut album, from which lead single "We're All No One", featuring Dutch DJ Afrojack and American Steve Aoki, is lifted. The single is out September 6th and it's lyrics video can be viewed below:
